His death certificate states that he was married, but I have not been able to verify that.
Ken spent the last 18 months of his life at Essondale, and prior to that lived at Passmore, B.C. with his mother, Adelaide P. Whiteman, nee: Parkin (29 December 1866 England - 20 February 1946 Passmore, B.C.. buried in the Slocan City Cemetery. ) , who was also a nurse.
Both are found in the directory listings from 1918 onwards as living in Passmore, Adelaide was granted a land grant No. 6556 on the 13th of December 1926, and she continued to be listed as a nurse until 1940 when widow also gets added to the listings.
Land Grant 6556, near Passmore, granted to Adelaide P. Whiteman in 1926
Ken and Adelaide were listed as farmers, or as ranchers in the directory listings. Adelaide's death certificate states that she had lived in Canada for 32 years, 6 months, in B.C. for 31 years, in living in Passmore for 30 years.
[ NOTE: the reason that I collected this information was because of family members of the deceased had been searching for the final resting place; I have found it very typical in looking at death certificates that the exact place of burial is frequently not noted, and that many of the information fields in the document are left blank, when even at the time of death a good legal search would have turned up much more information about the deceased. ]
